The past week has been brilliant in Bruges: bright sunny days, temperatures as high as 28°C (82.4°F), tourists and locals flocking into the many tea rooms, restaurants and cafes that Bruges has to offer while others frolicked under the sun in the parks - it was a photo opportunity for me.
Enjoy!

In Bruges and It's a Movie!
If you're greatly looking forward to summer: where the days are longer while the sun shines brightly, where the warmth of the sun embraces you and comforts you, then there's a treat waiting for you.
The movie, In Bruges written and directed by Martin McDonagh stars Colin Farrell, Ralph Fiennes and Brendan Gleason and is set to be released in the UK on April 18, 2008 and Belgium, June 25, 2008.
The movie In Bruges is a black comedy revolving around two Irish hit killers who are sent to Bruges, Belgium after a hit in London to await further instructions from their boss. There, both hitmen encounter their own set of adventures; both with very different interests.
The movie is hilarious as you will see in the trailer below and is bound to blow your socks off! If it doesn't why not come to Bruges and I'll take you out to have the best waffles in Bruges (a place frequented by Colin Farrell during the filming of In Bruges).

Pageant of the Golden Tree
Sunday was a nice day when we were able to witness the Pageant of the Golden Tree, a historical re-enactment parade in the beautiful historical city centre of Brugge. You can see some very nice pictures here.

Laurenzino, Best Waffles in Bruges
This is a well overdue post on my favourite dessert place in Belgium. If you ever visit Belgium, then you MUST visit Bruges, and if you visit Bruges, you MUST go to Laurenzino.
Laurenzino is a little shop located at the corner of Noordzandstraat and Sint-Amandsstraat, in the centre of Bruges. Laurenzino sells the best waffles, pancakes, milkshakes and ice-creams in Bruges. Everything is freshly made and the owner, Li
sa, is a perfectionist and takes pride in her work. This is a guarantee that you will be more than satisfied with your goodies.
Although Laurenzino looks small (in comparison with other dessert places) and isn't a sit-in store, it has a wide selection of ice-creams (all homemade) and you can have milkshakes flavoured with any of the available ice-creams. Their strawberry and banana milkshakes are the best. In addition to the ice-cream she uses in her milkshakes, Lisa also uses fresh fruits, and she is very generous with them. My mouth is already watering thinking about it.
Her pancakes are absolutely divine! They are so fresh and warm that they melt in your mouth (not in your hands :) I just had to add this phrase). Each bite is to be savoured.
Well, all this typing about pancakes and milkshakes is making my stomach growl. So, you know what to do and where to go when you are in Belgium. After all, Belgium is famous for its cuisine.
